Why it gets suggested: A fat your body turns into quick fuel without spiking insulin.

Dose: 10–20 g

Why we could not verify it: No human trial was found that measures afternoon energy crash, postprandial energy dip, or subjective fatigue in a daily-life context as the primary endpoint for MCT oil. Trials of MCT oil exist for: cognitive performance during exercise (physbeh 2023, DOI 10.1016/j.physbeh.2023.114284, which tested a C8:C10 30:70 blend — not a standard commercial MCT oil ratio — and measured working memory and processing speed during/after exercise, not afternoon energy levels), weight loss, metabolic rate, endurance exercise performance (with null results per systematic review PMID 36096496), and blood lipids. The ketonemia paper (DOI 10.1016/j.nut.2012.09.009) measured blood ketone elevation, not subjecti
