Phosphatidylcholine (Lecithin) for Poor Memory

Phosphatidylcholine is a dietary source of choline broken down during digestion; the hypothesis was that more circulating choline would support acetylcholine synthesis and slow memory decline.

How strong is the research?

No Benefit evidence

Pooled analysis of 12 RCTs (265 Alzheimer's patients, 21 with parkinsonian dementia, 90 with individual memory complaints) found no trial reported a clear clinical benefit of phosphatidylcholine/lecithin.
