Zinc Carnosine (Polaprezinc)
A chelate of zinc and L-carnosine, used in Japan as a gastric mucosal protectant. Distinct from zinc salts taken for nutritional zinc: it is poorly absorbed by design, acting on the stomach lining rather than as a source of dietary zinc.

2 safety notes
Zinc supports esophageal and gastric mucosal integrity by upregulating heat shock proteins and mucin secretion. It helps repair acid-damaged tissue and supports the protective mucosal barrier against gastric acid.
