Tested as: Not reported by salt. The eight pooled RCTs are described only as oral zinc supplementation; the review's subgroups are by dose (50 mg/day), study quality and population, not by zinc salt.

Who was studied: Adults. The effect was concentrated in people with renal dysfunction and in the lower-quality trials; healthy adults showed a much smaller change.
